The black forest is the home of the largest Cuckoo Clock in the world! Cuckoo Clocks were first built here in the Black Forest and are a well known product of Germany. The clocks are generally pendulum driven. At every hour and often at half after, small bellows and pipes make the noise of a common cuckoo. The first clocks were built between in the black forest between 1740- 1750, though it is unknown who built the first clock.
