Castles.

Our next stop is way down at the southern tip of the forest. The BURG RÖTTELN castle in Baden- Wurttemburg. This castle was built in the 13th century and it not easily found, lucky for us, we've got an inside look at the ruins of this castle.

Believe it or not, as this is still part of the "black forest", this castle gets the most sunlight, during the entire year, in all of Germany!

Because all that is left of this castle is ruins, not everything is still intact for us to see. However, there are still a few distinct features left on this castle, one being a draw bridge in which we do not have a clear photo of but it is located in the picture above on the right. There is also a tall tower, called a "donjon", as well as tall walls left standing.
